The Textual Analysis of Terrorism

Sphinx has a masterful discussion the hermeneutics of Muslim extremism in his explication of Oliver McTernan's article today in The Guardian.

there should be a "think tank" of people like us... where we can meet, debate, research, synthesize, i.e. "think things through" (as edward said had started to call for, shortly before he died) -> as well as PUBLISH and actually (try to) make a difference.

i personally am for establishing it in beirut...

any ideas?

Cairo. Egypt is the engine of the Arab world. Not that Beirut wouldn't be nice...

I wish some country would sell us some land about the size of Singapore. Ghedaffi's got more than he can use. Start from scratch.
