Israel destroys Lebanon's fishing fleet

The fishermen of Ouzaï in Beirut's southern suburbs have returned to find their "flotilla" of 700 small fishing boats destroyed. After the massacre of the cucumber pickers, Israel exacts more revenge on the most helpless.

Which doesn't really matter because the massive oil slick (said to be worse than Exxon Valdez) has turned harbours into oil sumps - see Dahr Jamail on the port of Byblos and photos.

When the Romans attacked Carthage , Plutarch said ..."that which they did not destrpy they laid waste ..." and then they sowed the ground with salt.

The economic effects will take decades to recover - the feelings of revenge will never be assuaged.
