Bi-Tsar

We now have two tsars, or C-tsars: David Petraeus and Douglas Lute. Should we assume that CENTCOM got a lashing from Bush when he was down in Tampa last week and has been declared a non-command?

Seriously, I have no clue why Douglas Lute, essentially a tank commander, is about to be elevated to cabinet rank.

Consensus is Lute will be:

a) the designated patsy... when things really eff up, Lute will be blamed.

b) an excuse to reset the clock... we have to give the surge an additional 6 months because we now have a new war czar.

or

c) a distraction... look over here in Washington... in Washington... don't look over there in Iraq.
