Israel hits UN targets again

UPDATE: Via AFP. During the course of yesterday, a direct protest was delivered to the Israeli Armed Forces after each bomb or artillery shell exploded in the vicinity of the UN's Khaim observation post; 145 shells were fired and 16 directly targeted the position. There were no Hezbollah units operating in the area. The Israelis then destroyed all communication. The UN later contacted the Israelis for permission to evacuate the dead and wounded. The UN headquarters at Naqoura was attacked this morning. --The UN's Jane Holl Lute

The Israelis were requested six time in an explicit, detailed and severe manner to stop firing --Lt. Colonel John Malloy (Ireland)

Jane Holl Lute, Deputy UN Secretary in charge of peace operations, declares that the Unifil observation post in Khaim was hit again: 21 airstrikes and 12 artillery rounds.

Don't let the Israelis give you the justification that it was an accident.

So far Israel has killed Du Zhaoyu (China), one Finn, one Austrian and one Canadian, deliberately with with meditated malice.

Also, an Israeli missile destroyed a UN relief truck on the Syrian border.

“[Prime Minister] Fuad Sanyoura gives Rice a huggy-huggy and a kissy-kissy in this photo from Assafir. What is this all about?” asked a leading Lebanese resistant.

As the man famously said on June 23, 1942:
The last veils behind which enemies and traitors operated have been torn apart. The stakes are clear for each and every citizen of our nation: the outcome of that war will be complete independence or eternal slavery. […] I am confident that we shall prevail … and that traitors [in government] who collaborate with our enemies will be punished…Such a victory is worth all the efforts and sacrifices we are making today

What does Israel gain from this? Here are two hypotheses:

(1) It gets to further vilify the UN administration (at least in the eyes of americans) for saying what the available evidence clearly suggests (namely that the attack was deliberate). That Israel can get away with this is made possible by the principle, widely accepted in the U. S., and which is daily reinforced by the MSM, that the Israeli military operates on huminitarian principles.

(2) It makes it unlikely that UN will be able to muster a peacekeeping force.

Israel precluded an UN force last week. Olmert says he wants the Eastern Mediterranean Treaty Organization, aka NATO, to disarm Hezbollalh.

Yeah, I really don't have a clue as to why they did (and apparently keep on doing) these attacks against UN facilities.

Some very sinister and fearful mechanism indeed seems to be in place here.
