I was pissing at the time, you see....

Lies, evidence-tampering and collusion.

The Mirror has obtained more details on the erroneous slaying of Jean Charles de Menezes. It looks to me that the "surveillance team" conspired with the "gun team" to deliver justice without the trammels of the law and to clear the decks of evidence. Not only is it claimed that the disks of Tube cameras were removed the day before (a cynical and flawed excuse) but a key player in the stakeout, a surveillance officer,
...failed to get video footage of him - because he was relieving himself. Clear film might have saved the Brazilian's life. It could have been compared to police photographs of two of the 21/7 suspects and revealed he looked like neither. Equipped with a camera the crucial point came at 9.33am when he wrote in his log book: "As I observed this male exit the block I was in the process of relieving myself. I was not able to switch on the video camera."

Update: Mark_from_Ireland reminds us that the terminology for this sort of thing is: Conspiracy to Pervert the Course of Justice.

Have a bone :-)

You forgot to add:

"Conspiracy to pervert the course of justice."

Yes really. It'll be interesting to see whether, after all the inquiries, the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) decides for once to go after this one.

"Yesterday more astonishing details of the bungled mission emerged raising further questions about Sir Ian's handling of the tragedy last month:

A senior Yard source told the Mirror: "There's no doubt that Commander Dick did NOT instruct anyone to shoot de Menezes. The gun team were there as a precaution. It looks as if they didn't have time to tell them to grab the man, not shoot him dead. The difference between de Menezes living and dying may have been five seconds."

Points
1. More details EMERGED .. I always thought it was creatures from the Black Lagoon that did this. Did some phantasm of smoke and mirrorsa convey to our intreid reporter, as if in a dream ? or did a man sidle up to him in a bar...a browen envelope slip noiselessly onto his mat ?

2. so we get this .... attributed a reprise on the old "split second timing " ...."The difference between de Menezes living and dying may have been five seconds." Shirley the simple question yo be asked of GOLD Commander (do they get these names off the back of cornflake packets?) is..was it the intention to apprehend the "bomber " or was it the intention to kill him.

The police were not having a piss, they taking the piss.... and they will get away with it.

Have you heard any howls of self righteous indignation from the holidaying elites ?
