Rumors swirl concerning Mehlis Commission's findings

L'Orient-Le Jour reports that the findings of the Mehlis Commission investigating the assassination of Rafik Hariri are so explosive that final report will be delayed for weeks. An article by E.M, the paper's correspondent in Paris, says that the Lebanese public must be prepared before the release of the report. The consequences are estimated to be earth-shaking.

L'Orient-Le Jour's correspondent interviewed a personality named Johnny Abdo, a former ambassador*, who suggested that the delay is a tactical one, allowing "the bomb to drop without feeling the blast."

[I doubt that Mehlis knows anything, but speculation does sell newspapers--Nur].

*Raf al-Mansur informs us that Johnny Abdo headed Lebanese military intelligence in the 80's, likely in the Gemayel government.

I know almost nothing about Johnny Abdo. I read that he was close to Rarik and Rarik suggested him for President. Know that he headed Intelligence back then and know he is retired and think he does not now live in Lubnan. I have tried to find more about him,and would appreciate it if you would post here in comments either info on him or a URL with info about him.

Thanks
