The Daejeon Massacre - Truth and Reconciliation

Today's La Repubblica reports that the United States National Archives has published photos from the Korean War showing South Korean police engaged in a Babi Yar type atrocity...however, they are exterminating suspected South Korean commies, who probably fought the Japanese occupation heroically. A truth and reconciliation commission is digging up the site. More than 7,000 people were massacred in Daejeon, and thousands more elsewhere in a cleansing operation between 1950 and 1951.

These pictures were kept under wraps for 57 years.
